Conference Venue

The conference will be held at the University of the South Pacific (USP), upper Laucala Campus, Suva, Fiji. Established in 1968, the USP is one of the two regional Universities of its kind in the world, owned by 12 member countries and spread over 33 million km2. The multi-cultural and diverse multi-nationalism nature of the staff and students gives the USP a unique character. The conference rooms are equipped with modern multi-media systems.

Travel to Fiji

Fiji is known as “Paradise in the middle of the deep Blue” and is actually made up of 322 islands and 522 islets. The largest island in the Fijian archipelago is Viti Levu. USP (Laucala campus) is on eastward side of this island-Suva. Fiji awards a temporary visa up to 4 months upon arrival to all visitors holding a valid passport and a return ticket and adequate financial resources to cover their expenses.

All international flights arrive at the Nadi Airport. It is about 3 hrs drive to the capital city of Suva (30 min flight operated by Pacific Sun) where the USP Campus and conference venue is located. Please visit the website for further information on transportation.

Travel within Fiji

Participants have the option to travel by road on a tourist or public bus, taxi or rental car from Nadi airport or within Suva and nearby resorts. Visit our website for further information on travel with contact details of the travel companies.  
The magic of Fiji is its white sandy beaches, swaying coconut trees, pristine oceans and waterways, world-famous friendliness of its people, their diverse captivating culture and a range of things to do and see that will appeal to you.
An after conference tour will be organized but will depend on the number of participants

Fiji Currency

The Fijian dollar depicted by the code FJD or FJ$ is the main currency accepted in Fiji. Major credit cards such as MasterCard and VISA are also accepted. Currency exchange can be done at several currency exchange outlets and banks.


Fiji enjoys a tropical maritime climate and the temperature varies only a few degrees around the mean temperature of 300C. During November-April, Fiji experiences the cyclone season while during May –October it is normally cool and dry.
